In the pic, you see the wait starting to back up outside of El Burro, yesterday, their last day open (the new owners at The Pruneyard are not renewing the lease for El Burro). Last night, faithful El Burro customers came out by the hundreds to eat one final meal at the 47-year old Mexican restaurant in The Pruneyard, Campbell.
The owners thought they’d either stay open until the usual closing time of 9pm, or maybe even close an hour or two early. No way. They were still calling out names off the wait list after 11pm! People were eating there past midnight (although they ran out of beans and flour tortillas before 11pm).
We hope to see El Burro again in the area. One family member told me he won’t stop until it happens.
El Burro's last day open won't end – line still out the door!- Chris Jackson live@ThePruneyard #Campbell
