Olympics of Classic Rock: Gold Medal for Best Rock Scream

While watching the Olympics last night, I got the idea to have listeners vote on the Olympics of Classic Rock on my show this morning. When it came to the Event for Best Rock Scream, Axl Rose’s scream at the beginning of  Guns N’ Roses’ “Welcome To The Jungle” represented the USA, and Roger Daltrey’s scream toward the end of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” represented the UK.

Roger took the Gold! In the pic, I’m holding the CD with the winning scream. Here are the rest of the Gold Medal winners:

Best GUITAR INTRO.: Slash for “Sweet Child O’ Mine” (USA). Best DRUM RIFF: Phil Collins for the middle of “In The Air Tonight” (UK). Best VOCAL HIGH NOTE: Freddie Mercury for middle of “Bohemian Rhapsody” (UK). Best Singer, Women: Pat Benatar for “Heartbreaker” (USA). Congrats to all!
