The Mountain View Art and Wine Festival!

I checked out the Mountain View Art and Wine Festival yesterday (Saturday 9/8) with my 10 year old son Bobby.   I heard they’d have over 500 artists and lots of great wine and beer.  I also heard that they’re expecting around 200,000 people to come through over the course of the weekend.  After hearing that, I wanted to get there early.  We arrived around 10:15am and quickly discovered that we made the right call.   By 11:30am, the place was pretty packed.  The festival runs down Castro Street between El Camino Real and Evelyn Avenue in Downtown Mountain View.  As promised there was plenty of art and wine, and an area for kids with various activities.  We enjoyed strolling down Castro and checking out the downtown businesses.  My son Bobby particularly enjoyed the candy store.  I make a habit of pricing beer.  They were selling tickets for 7 dollars and a beer cost one ticket.  Not bad for The Bay Area, considering I spent $13.50 for a beer at the Giants game last Friday night.

One of my favorite booths…

I thought of Chris Jackson when I saw these hats.  He’s got one a little like these…
