I grew up in San Jose, and I’ve been lookin’ at the Delta Queen Car Wash at Hamilton & Bascom in Campbell the whole time. It’s been there for over 50 years, and it’s billed as the first themed car wash ever! So what kind of boat is that? It’s a replica of a 19th century Mississippi paddle wheel riverboat.
Many of the ducks you see there are descendants of a pair named Cheese and Quackers, a gift to the car wash owners from a customer in 1972.
It’s the coolest car wash in the South Bay, unless you get stuck in the traffic backup it causes on Hamilton Ave. ~
