Right now it’s a giant hole in the ground at end of a football and track field, bsut it’s come a long way since the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday, October 12, 2018. The new Milpitas Skate Park at the Milpitas Sports Center, next to Calaveras Hills High School, is just a block east of 680 & Calaveras Blvd. in Milpitas.
Construction of the new concession building and additional restrooms began in August 2019, and skaters should be ready to roll this summer.
Above you see the batting cages across from the skate park location. Below is the baseball diamond next to the cages.
I can’t skate (that includes skateboarding, rollerskating, and ice skating), but it’s hard not to enjoy watching skateboarders do their tricks in those giant cement bowls.
I lived in Milpitas for 10 years, and my kids and I really enjoyed it. Now we’ve got one more reason to love Milpitas, and a fun place to go after lunch at La Milpa 🙂
