Make up for the high cost of housing by doing FREE stuff in San Jose! I should know, I’m born and raised in San Jose (Simonds Elementary/Castillero Middle School/Leland High School/San Jose State), so I know where the FREE stuff is!
The Tech Museum Of Innovation – known to have “FREE admission” days
Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum – FREE after 4 some days.
Japanese Friendship Garden – all 5.5 acres – FREE (next to Happy Hallow Park and Zoo)
San Jose Municipal Rose Garden – FREE
History Park – FREE – look for the old-fashioned candy and ice cream shop
Emma Prusch Farm Park – FREE – with live chickens runnin’ around
Almaden Quicksilver Mining Museum – FREE
and my favorite…
Sierra Rd. view – FREE – drive up Sierra Rd. into San Jose’s east foothills to experience the quickest elevation rise in San Jose. In a minute, you’ll be up 1000 ft. or so, and you’ll have the best view around!
