When the pandemic first started some of the first things to disappear off the shelves were disinfecting wipes. Clorox, which happens to be based in Oakland, anticipated to be restocked by the summer. The summer is almost over and they still haven’t been able to meet the demand. According to NBC Bay Area Clorox CEO Benno Dorer announced that their “entire supply chain is stressed” and “we feel like it’s probably going to take until 2021 before we’re able to meet all the demand that we have.”
The company also said it is pushing has hard as they can and do have a sense of urgency and are doing all they can to produce the wipes as fast as possible. They are running their facilities 24/7 and have added 10 new suppliers. In the meantime if you happen to see them on the shelves you may want to buy one as you may not see it again till next year since they go so fast.
