Important San Jose holiday dates

The Holidays are here!

If you are ready or not, the holidays are officially here. I went to Starbucks earlier today and they have their holiday cups out. This made me want to look up some of the dates for holiday events in the South Bay. Check out what I found.

Starting Dates

Celebrating its 23rd season, it is the only rink in the world that offers skating in and around a circle of 32 palm trees.

Santana Row kicks off the holiday season with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, a joyous celebration for the entire family. Enjoy an evening of live music, costumed characters and family activities.

“It’s everyone’s favorite promotion, the Teddy Bear Toss! Bring your new bears with you to The Tank on Friday November 22nd and get your throwing arm ready. After the Barracuda score their first goal of the game, toss those teddy bears onto the ice. All bears will be collected and donated to local non-profit organizations. Last season, Dylan Gambrell scored the goal that triggered the toss. Who do you think will get the big one this season?”

The first lighting of the giant Christmas tree in Downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez.

“WinterFest, the Bay Area’s most immersive holiday event, brings holiday cheer to California’s Great America. Christmas activities include magnificent displays of lights and décor, viewing spectacular live holiday shows, experiencing more than 60 rides and holiday attractions, seeing Santa’s workshop and Mrs. Claus’ kitchen, and enjoying scrumptious holiday fare at numerous dining locations.”

The opening ceremony for the family oriented Christmas tradition of lights, trees and exhibits in Downtown San Jose’s Plaza de Cesar Chavez.

“Come to the streets of Downtown Campbell for the 34th anniversary of the annual Carol of Lights celebration in Campbell! The Carol of Lights is a free, non-commercial and family oriented event for the community to help kick off the holiday season. For the kids, we’ll have a snow play area, Santa visits, a petting zoo, bounce houses, arts and crafts, and face painting.”

“Fantasy of Lights is a spectacular 1.5 mile Drive-thru extravaganza of holiday lights and displays for the entire family. It is now in its 21st year and has become a cherished holiday tradition. It is bigger, better and brighter than ever before thanks to the transition to environmentally friendly LED displays.”
