77-year-old PAUL MCCARTNEY just finished a tour, and apparently, he’s not just going to kick up his heels and relax.
He’s writing his first STAGE MUSICAL. It’s an adaptation of “It’s a Wonderful Life”, which he’s old enough to have seen in THEATERS. (That may sound like a joke, but it isn’t. Paul was born in 1942. The movie came out in ’46.)
He’s working with Lee Hall, the playwright who did “Billy Elliot”. Paul said he’s doing it because it, quote, “seemed interesting and fun.” There aren’t many details yet, but they’re supposedly hoping to have it ready by the end of next year.
