Of course we’re about to see more traffic as California slowly reopens. The Bay Area’s Transportation Commission is worried that the traffic might be worse than it was before the pandemic hit! Why? They think less people will risk taking public transportation.
They’re predicting that the Bay Area morning commute time will be 42 minutes longer than it was before the Coronavirus outbreak!
Randy Rentschler, spokesperson for The Metropolitan Transportation Commission said, “people are going to be very hesitant into crowded public transit systems and transit works because lots of people use it. Many of those people still need to get to work, I think the automobile will be their go to vehicle of choice. I likely think we are going to see some pretty congested freeways.”
