The U.S. Is No Longer the Tallest Country in the World

The Wall Street Journal reports that, for more than 200 years, Americans towered over the rest of the planet. But that’s no longer the case: Today, the Netherlands boast the tallest natives in the world. While the average American man is 5’10” and the average American woman is 5’5″, the average Dutch man is 6’2″ and the average Dutch woman is 5’7″.

Also, to predict how tall your daughters will eventually be, subtract 13 centimeters from the father’s height and average that figure with the mother’s height. For boys, add 13 centimeters to the mother’s height and average that figure with the father’s height.
