Friday night while our San Jose Sharks were in LA playing The Kings, our San Jose Barracuda were at SAP center taking on the Ontario Reign. The San Jose Barracuda are the AHL affiliate for The San Jose Sharks. I took my 10 year old son and a friend on Friday night and we had the BEST time! Tickets are WAY cheaper than a Sharks game, so it’s financially within reach for many families. Parking was cheaper too, only 10 dollars. They did a solid job producing the game from the entrance of the players to a segment before the 3rd period where people can, “chuck a puck.” For 5 bucks, I bought my son 5 pucks and he got to throw them on the ice. The puck that gets closest to the target on the ice wins a prize. That was my son’s favorite part. This was our first Barracuda game, but not our last. They now have 3 new fans!
At $10.25, it was a one beer night!
Turns out their PA announcer is an old radio friend of mine, Aaron Fonseca. He really helps to keep the game exciting with his enthusiasm.
