Police recover unreleased music stolen from Tom Petty’s estate

Tom Petty’s family has regained possession of some property that was stolen from the late singer’s estate.

Petty departed this world with a large stash of guitars and unreleased music. TMZ reports that a man broke into a storage unit that housed Petty’s valuables. Among the stolen items was $100,000 worth of guitars and unreleased music.

Police are not saying if Petty’s property at the San Fernando storage facility was intentionally targeted. It may have been a coincidence.

TMZ reports that some hard drives containing Petty’s music have been recovered. There are stolen Tom Petty guitars out there, TMZ says.

A suspect is in custody.
