After 5 losses in a row, the San Jose Sharks have announced some big changes in their coaching staff.
The San Jose Sharks announced that Pete DeBoer is no longer with the Sharks. Bob Boughner, an assistant coach, takes over on an interim basis. This was strictly a hockey related decision and based off the team’s on ice performance.
Assistant coaches Dave Barr and Steve Spot as well as goalie coach Johan Hedberg were also let go. Associate coach Roy Sommer, assistant coach Mike Riccie and goaltending coach Evgeni Nabokov will be replacing Barr, Spot and Hedberg.
Dan Darrow will remain in his current role of assistant coach for video.
Sharks general manager Doug Wilson said, the “group of individuals who will lead our team moving forward are very familiar with our players, and we think this change can provide our group with a fresh start.”
