We’re in the last few days of the year at around 100° in Silicon Valley. Here’s where to cool off for FREE inside AND outside:
COLDEST SPOT Inside:
They have public ice skating ’til 9:45pm….it’s Sharks Ice – aka Solar4America Ice, across from Spartan Stadium! They have a snack bar, and they keep it COLD!!
The snack bar is downstairs–you see the tables here:
Stanley’s Sports Bar, below, overlooks the ice.
Here I am with Sharks PA Announcer Danny Miller at the Sharks draft day party inside Stanley’s:
The irony is –you’ll be going there to beat the heat in San Jose–by cooling down to 55°–but ya better bring a jacket ~
If you want to cool off while staying OUTSIDE, a great spot is Shoreline Lake Park (Kite Park/Golf Course/Paddle boat lake) between Shoreline Amphitheatre and where San Francisco Bay ends at it’s most southern spot (Mountain View/Alviso). This area usually has a nice breeze coming off the Bay, and it can be 15 degrees cooler outside than nearby areas!
