People in Japantown in San Jose has been having a noise problem as of late. There have been reports of trains traveling at 3am and blaring their horns, waking up residents.
According to the Mercury News, “The extra noise is thanks to Union Pacific, which recently made some operating changes. Those changes, the company says, are meant to reduce the number of idling locomotives and the amount of time they stand still. But the shift also means more trains at odd hours.”
Currently there is no solution to the noise problem. Have you heard this trains late at night around downtown? – Joey
