DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE ROLLING STONES PLAYED IN SAN JOSE Dec. 4, 1965?

3000 people came to see the 2nd biggest band in the world (2nd to the Beatles) in San Jose, Saturday December 4, 1965. The Rolling Stones opened with “The Last Time,” and also played songs like “Satisfaction” and “Get Off My Cloud” – both of which are found on the Stones CD, “Hot Rocks” that I’m holding in the photo above.

Keith Richards suffered an electric shock the night before at their Sacramento show, and some fans thought he might not play in San Jose that night. But he did–alongside their late guitarist, Brian Jones.

It was at the San Jose Civic Auditorium! It’s now called City National Civic. It’s still in the same place, and concerts still happen there (like ZZ Top 1/13/19).

I’ve gone to a bunch of awesome shows there: Judas Priest, Sammy Hagar with “Ranger” who later became “Night Ranger,” Gamma, April Wine, Steely Dan, Y&T, and more!

Win your way in to see the Stones @Levi’s Stadium weekdays through Friday, Dec. 7, when you hear the cue to call on KFOX at 9am with Joey, and 3pm & 4pm with me!
