The Golden State Warriors eked out a win over the Toronto Raptors in Game Five last night, by a score of 106 to 105. The Raptors had a chance to end it in the final seconds, but a shot by Kyle Lowry didn’t fall.
KEVIN DURANT returned to start for the Warriors, after sitting out a month with a calf strain. And he didn’t seem rusty.
He scored 11 points in 12 minutes, and was 3-for-3 from beyond the arc. Things were looking good for the Warriors . . . but then Durant re-injured the same leg in the second quarter, and left the game. He didn’t return.
The most upsetting part of the injury was when Raptors fans cheered after KD got hurt. Even Logan Couture of the San Jose Sharks had comments about it.
How do you cheer when an athlete gets hurt…unreal.

He’ll have an MRI today, but it looked bad, so it wouldn’t be surprising if he was out for the rest of the Finals. Warriors GM Bob Myers says it’s an Achilles injury but they won’t know the full extent until after the tests today.
Toronto still leads the series 3-2. Game Six is Thursday in Oakland, and if the Warriors can win that one, then they come back to Toronto for Game Seven on Sunday. So, the Warriors are still fighting an uphill battle.
